hello everyone,

i want to work on a single board computer , like the beagle board. so,please let me know if there are any tutorials about how to work on a beagle board.

Try beagleboard.org? This board runs linux, so you'd want to get a good book on this. Get ready for a steep learning curve.

It's been sitting on the shelf for a while, but I played with a BeagleBoard a while back. I was a little surprised how much fiddling it took to get things going, but I kept a blog of the fiddling I did. Maybe you'll find some of this useful:

If you are looking for ANY SBC based on ARM not just Beagle then can I highly recommend "Friendly ARM". For about €35 you can get a board capable of running Linux 2.6 on an ARM 9

I've been looking at the Beagle Board for some time but unfortunately that's the problem, support. The main support is not a site like Avr Freaks but Google groups which I don't care for because there's no stickys for tutorials or finished projects ect.

The newest Beagle XM with it's 1ghz processor is impressive especially since they dropped the price to $150 for the XM and $125 for the slower 720mhz Rev C4. But if you want do "real-world" stuff with sensors like temp,voltage,accelerometer you'll need a break-out board to attach to the expansion header. The only board I'm aware of is the $59 TinCan Tools "Trainer Board".

If you look through the posts at Google group you'll see there's quite a bit to do and therefore confusion over how to enable the signals to the expansion port. I've also read a blog which reviewed the XM "can't remember the url" It said that Ubuntu runs quite slow and is far from optimized to run on it. The boards have been out for quite some time and they don't even have a working "validation image" for it yet.

Depending on what you mainly want to do with the board I would suggest looking at the Panda Board.

They don't have dedicated forums, just a Google group and an IRC but their main site and WIKI seams to be much better organized and geared toward the beginner then the Beagle's.
I'm looking at the Minibox pico-SAM9G45 because I want something that can run a GUI version of Linux and that I can create my own GUI with GTK.

The expansion board and case aren't out yet but the board is only $69 and they have a 4.3" resistive touch screen for $35.

Just to note that if you are after 1GHz+ performance the 1.6GHz Intel Atom based boards from Intel cost about $60+. The D410PT and D510MO have now replaced the previously successful D945GCLF.

A quick search at Google shopping says the cheapest supplier is:

Well the more the merrier, it's still a side project from TI like the Beagle but should push to drive down prices and spur innovation. I'm not sure I like the Arago File system.http://arago-project.org/wiki/index.php/About_the_Arago_Project
It's based on Binaries from CodeSourcery Lite.
Seams like TI's tring to push people to the very expensive CodeSourcery. I see that even Microchip finally realized that hobbyists aren't going to pay even $150 for limited versions of the MPlab C compiler when there are free IDE's out there. They now have MPLAB X which based on the open source NetBeans IDE from Oracle.
Also it's only 600MHZ versus 720MHZ for the Beagle Rev C4 or 1GHZ for the XM but still costs more than either.
I think the biggest pluses would be:
1) Supported in TI's existing forums, but you still won't find tutorials there like at AvrFreaks and there mainly for non-beginners.
2) 3.3V I/0 (no need for level translation)
3) Diagnostic software embedded in flash on the board.

2) What do you want to do most with it. I.E. multimedia, remote sensing ect.?
