Hello there,

I used to use my Dragon with Jtag to program and debug a atmega32, but it stoped working.

AVR Studio says it can't identify the target.

Some more information:

1- I can upgrade the dragon firmware. (good)

2- If I try to connect to the device with power off, it complains about not sensing the target power. (good)

3- I can't connect to my devices (yes, I have tried other chips) with JTAG or ISP, it gives me the message that it can't identfy my target, and if I want to try with external reset on. Then asks me if I wan't to use ISP to turn JTAG on (done that, not working). Then it gives another error message. (bad)

I think it is a strange situation, as it seens that the dragon is ok, but can't contact the chip.

Anyone have anything to say on this subject?

Thank you.

Have a dual trace scope? Try and capture activity on TDI and TDO (jtag pin 3 and 9) when you hit the 'read signature' button. I'll betcha a coke that TDI ain't shakin.

And do you have the reset pin wired up to the JTAG and ISP header? If you have code in your chip that disables JTAG then you must have the reset pin wired up to the JTAG header.

Hello there,

Sorry to ask for help and then run away, please forgive me. Please don´t get me wrong. I will not be able to try to try to solve my problem at this moment, just would like to leave some feedback.

But I have not disabled anything. It was working one day, and the next day it was not. Maybe I burned something on the Dragon, or shor-circuited something.

Later I will try to look at this problem again, and will post my results on this thread.

Thank you.
