Hi,

I am ramping into use of Atmel MCU's and Atmel Studio, and have purchased a selection of platforms to help me ramp into action here:

Platforms

Working

The ATmega324 unit works fine, I plug it into USB on the PC, launch Studio and 'Start Debugging' just fine.

Not Working

The other two units (ATmega-A1 & UC3-A3) are not working. Device Manager doesn't even recognize the UC3! :(

See attached msg.png for the message received for both platforms.

Questions

  1. What is wrong with the two not working units?
  2. How to fix and get them working?

Thoughts? Any help is greatly appreciated!! :)

Which version of Studio? If not .1006 then all bets are off.

Well in theory that is the one with the fixed USB drivers so it *should* see all the devices OK.

Clearly not that then :-(

Eh.. there's no debugger on the Xplained series, only on the Xplained Pro series...

The UC3 is a board controller, which by default is a UART-USB bridge (should show up in your Ports node in the Device Manager).

Suggest that you skim through the user guide/getting started in the Documents tab on the pages you linked to...
