Hi,

I'm all new to the AVR32. For a new project I need to encode video to MPEG4 format. I also need to be able to view decoded MPEG4 video on a screen.

Any suggestions on where to start looking? In an ideal world I'd find a reference design or development kit and recycle the parts I need. Do you know of AVR32 boards with camera modules?

Also, are there MPEG4 software libraries that I can download or purchase?

Thanks,

Børge

For mpeg4 playback you can download Buildroot for AVR32 [1] and select mplayer, it is optimized for decoding mpeg's. You even find a library within mplayer which contains optimized routines (uses the PICO).

I think the encoding power of the AP7000 is not what you are looking for, encoding needs a lot more power than decoding (async codec).

For reference design I would have a look at ATSTK1000 starter kit, and think how to make it more like a ATNGW100 with an LCD ;)
