I have a MMC interface on a (SAM device) and was wondering, will ordinary SD cards work on it.  The device does not respond to instructions.  I'm hoping that its not working because I'm trying to use a SD card on it when it may require a MMC card.

Wasn't even aware there where two standards.

Mmc is basically obsolete as the sdcard standard replaces it. You should be more specific which SAM device you’re using -there’s a few of them. And how are you determining if it is working or not?

This is a repeat of the discussion happening in the SAM forums.

I'm using the SAMA5D4 Xplained Ultra Development Board.  Love, loads of Memory and power to do neat things on it.

Atmel/Microchip have an examples but it is reporting that there is no response from the device.  It detects it but nothing else.

The example is written for the SAMA5D4 Xplained (note not Ultra) but I'm thinking the Ultra version has the same connections.

I looked for the schematic for the ordinary Xplained to compare with the Ultra but could not find it.

Thanks for the input, I'm sure it supports ordinary SD Cards. I could use SPI but I would like to use the native MMC interface for the cards.
