It is possible to buy mmc interface modules with SPI or serial interface (115 Kb), which one is faster way save data to mmc card. Has anyone already made (free) program to spi - mmc interface for Mega 8.

SPI beats USI, hands down.

Did you search the forum for MMC/SDD?

Did you Google for MMC/SDD?

Check out http://www.prllc.com...

And nothing is free - only at the initial obsurvance does anything apear to be free...

The "free as in beer" stuff will likely involve a cost in the form of the work you'll inevitably have to invest in tweaking the software to make it fit your individual needs. Maybe you just need to access individual bytes in the flash memory. On the other hand, maybe you also need a full FAT32 filesystem. Maybe you need to share the SPI pins with another device.

The list goes on...

Maybe the one mentioned this thread
http://8515.avrfreaks.net/index....

But it will prob not work on a Mega8 (too big) , but the I/O could probably be used

This one contains schematic & program (ICC-AVR) , so some conversion might be needed if you use WinAVR (not much i would guess)
