On an STK500

//Using a mega16
PORT = 0x00; // This gives LEDs 0, 1, 6, 7, on (low)
             // LEDs 2, 3, 4, 5 off (high) why?

//Using a mega324
PORTC = 0x00; // All LEDs are on

The two mega16 are about a year old and new, taken out of the anti-static shipping container earlier today. This happens with both of them.

What am I missing here?

Thanks,
Mike

Disabling JTAG. It would be EXACTLY the same with the M324 if the JTAG fuse is still on.

Thanks John. Now I remember having the same problem with a m324 several years ago. "My memory is going", HAL in 2001 a Space Odyssey. Getting old is not for wimps!

I see both of us have been Freaks for 10 years now.

I knew it was something simple, thanks,
Mike

Maybe Chuck Baird will offer up two or three rhymed couplets that we can call "The CRS Blues". Where you call out the first line twice, then respond with the second line.

A lot of us are giving it a shot. Never say die until dead and then you can't say it anyway. :lol:

It's 11 years with the Aussie calendar. :wink: Remember 2012, the last year of the Mayas?
