I am working with LCD's on the atmega, and just had a few questions. I enebale the exernal memory interface, and attach the lcd to the appropiate connections. Now whenever I write a 16 bit word such 0x8000, does it automatically go to a0-a15, and does the write enable and all the neccessary things with accessing the lcd. I set the CS, is there anything else that I need to do to get the darn thing to turn on ?

Hi,
If you write to external memory at any address, the A0..A15 will be set to this address (via lathing part of addres in addres latch), data lines D0..D7 will be set to written value and WE pulse will be generated. This is it and nothing more. As you can see writing 16 bit data must be done by two separate 8 bit writes.
