I have a project and i have chosen a atmega168 chip for target from the devices tab. when i tried to change it to atmega328p you can see the change inside that tab window but on the solid small box on the upper right corner.i restarted as5 and there is no new change of the mcu target device. Could you guys try it and tell me if is it a bug?

After choosing the new device, did you click on the Select Device button? You may have to scroll down in the Properties, Device window before you even see this button.

No surprise. In my opinion, the properties window is quite poor. On my laptop, in full screen mode, I have to scroll down and right before I can see the Select Device button. On my desktop (1680x1050 resolution), in minimized mode, unless the window is quite large, the button doesn't show up. And, when I maximize the AVR Studio window, the properties, Device window doesn't automatically grow to fill the properties tab. AND, there doesn't seem to be any way to enlarge the properties window - I can't stretch it or expand it. If I maximize the AVR Studio window, close the properties widow and re-open it, it then expands. At that point, the Select Device window is quite visible.

Interesting, though, if I have a source file open before I maximize the AVR Studio window, that window grows to fill the panel.

Buttons should be to the top and right - certainly not to the bottom and left . . .

Hopefully Atmel will fix this in the post-Beta release.
