Make a Parallel I/O Port<-> USB converter

I'd to make a Parallel I/O Port<->USB converter with an AVR device.

The device should be seen under WinXP, with two distinct addresses:

First Address, for a 8bit Out register
Second Address, for a 8bit In register

That will be slow. What part are you stuck on?

Why? To do that you would need to handle exceptions and simulate the instructions which access those addresses.

What's wrong a plain function call? Or C++ operator overloading?
