Hi All, Just got done with my talk at the HIW a little while ago. Go here to see more of HIW: http://makezine.com/hardware-inn...
Make: Magazine's Hardware Innovation Workshop
Too bad your headshot picture only shows half your head!
The screen is black here, nothing to click but the link under the screen.
That takes one to http://www.ustream.tv/new with nothing HIW unless on does a search, then there seem to be 2 sessions.
I get a screen that says "off air" as it cycles through 2 or 3 promo images. No Eric!
Jim
You have heard of Google, yes?
Ok, speaker roster here:

And... Though I loath to admit it... Pictures of the HIW here, from the Make Blog:

There are more articles on the Make Blog, check them out.
Overall, I had a good talk, even with some technical difficulties. (Slide clicker had issues for everyone.)
Looking forward to Maker Faire. :)
I hope Massimo Banzi wasn't talking about Sophia Loren!!
To save you all the trouble, allow me to tear back the veil of secrecy ... chuckle, chuckle.

LOL!
(You get away with such things only because you're a mod, it was posted on a Friday, and not enough people actually browsed to that photo.)

 there you go Eric. Now that didn't hurt too much did it?
Always good to put a face to a name...
Cheers,
Ross
Here's another one that just came out, from yesterday:

I probably look a little more relaxed, I think because I didn't know that I was being photographed.

Eric, I see there is also this high rank guy: Carl Bass, CEO, Autodesk.
Tell him that he should launch some free or nearly free 3D design software. Not a 1 year student version or a 6 weeks free trial with useless bells and wistles (that is only a temporary solution).
His stuff costs 1000's of $$$. That is not what a typical Maker Faire visitor is interested in (I think).
There is a world to win for them if they offer a give away like SolidEdge2D.
But then in 3D of course!
:?: :?: :?: Where is Autodesk's answer :?: :?: :?:
They need the general public to learn to use (their) 3D-design software... as a source to recruit specialists from.
It is rediculous that youngsters have to wait for university age to learn/get this stuff.
I was working security again. Mostly overnight. One night I guarded the Atmel booth. Technically I was guarding the nVidia booth, but I could see the Atmel booth from there.
As there were only two of us in the expo hall, it was sort of weird. Some of the Makers left their equipment on. One of the repraps was printing all night, then went haywire and started outputting blobs of plastic.
I did work Sunday, but on the other side of the venue, watching the entrance to the VIP Maker Lounge.
With 50,000 to 60,000 attendees per day (Over 100K attend this event) it is impossible to see anything. Even when one works the event.

I got to walk by the Pinball Museum. Didn't have time to go play anything though.
