I'm building a few experiments with MIPI displays and want to feed data into them from controllers that can't directly do MIPI very well. I have found the SSD2805 and the SSD2828, to ac as a converter, but these use a parallel interface for the display data. Is there an IC available that can also take in pixel data via SPI? End result would need to be able to drive an iPod nano 6th gen LCD.

Thanks!

Is an SPI port expander chip what your looking for?

That + the SSD chip might do the trick as well, yeah... Still interested if anyone knows a direct SPI->MIPI IC, though

Hmmmm..

Actually, looking at page 12 of the datahseet. I get the impression that smart displays (such as the ipod nano's) can be fed data trough the SPI as well. Or am I misreading this?  https://datasheet.lcsc.com/szlcsc/1811211633_Solomon-Systech-SSD2805CG39R_C235734.pdf
