I'm looking for some pointers on a CAN project. I recently converted a Ford Focus to battery electric. Now I want to do some real-time monitoring of things the car systems already know.
I want to datalog speed and odometer readings to add to the motor current and voltage I already have. I'm not new to Atmel chips but I know nothing about CAN.
I looking for some pointers on:
1) How to connect to the buss.
2) How to recognize the data I'm looking for.
3) How to avoid stupid CAN start-up problems.
