hey. I followed instructions how to configure Eclipse to cooperate with AVRs. Im using stk200 (lpt port) programmer, and while using windows winavr i didnt have any problems. Now if i type in terminal sth like this:

# sudo avrdude -p m8 -P /dev/parport0 -c stk200

everything works fine, processor answers etc.

but eclipse is generating something like this

# usr/bin/avrdude -p m8 -P /dev/parport0 -c stk200

and this does not work, occuring in an error:

avrdude: can't open device "/dev/parport0": Permission denied
avrdude: failed to open parallel port "/dev/parport0"

i checked twice, that there is avrdude in this folder, so does anyone know where can be a problem?

thanks in advance, cheers, rozek!

ok, i got it. found this page, actually in german, but luckily commands are in english :D
http://www.wiki.elektronik-proje...

writing in terminal:
sudo chmod u+rw /dev/parport0

as far as i know this changes permission to change state of file /dev/parport0 for User to read and write by adding this to earlier permissions (+ instead of -)
