Anyone else have problems with the JTAG ICE MKII indicating no power on target when you click on start debugging? On my target the power is stable at 5.0 vdc and i had a scope on it today to make sure. Still, the MKII fails to debug and the LED for target power goes off until the STUDIO stops trying to start the debugger.

I have checked board connections on target all the way to the ATMega128 target and all signals are OK, So are power and ground.

Any ideas?

I think the problem may be a faulty ribbon cable from the MK II. I was able to press the cable against the header pcb at the target end and it finally downloaded the program without saying target power was lost. I will see if I can get a replacement.

I seem to have fixed the problem. I removed the gray header on the target pcb long enough to access and resolder the connector for the ribbon cable. Then I reinstalled the gray header. The MK II has not failed to work ever since!
