I have installed Studio4 on my new Vista based PC and for the life of me I cannot get it to work properly. If I compile a short test program it complains the it cannot find the /dep derectory. If I manually create the /dep directory that complaint disapears and the compiler complains of the other directories being unavailable. I have used the standard installation and have not played with the make file in any way.

Any suggestions?

PS. I have posted this before but did not receive a working solution. If someone in the group has delt with this before and can help that would be great.

Thanks,

A

Not that it helps but I'm running Vista and just downloaded Studio and WinAVR and they all simply worked. So it's not as simple as things just not working on Vista - there's more to it.

Cliff,
Have you made any changes to your operating system?

Probably a UAC related issue. Disable that pronto. Right click AVR Studio.exe and select 'run as adminstrator'. Helps too if you are logged in as administrator.

If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.

None whatsoever. Almost my first action on receiving a brand new Acer Aspire 8930G with Vista pre-installed was to simply download the contemporary versions of Studio and WinAVR, install them and off I went - no issues found.

Is this a 64-bit Vista?

IIRC WinAVR will not work on 64-bit Vista.

As of January 15, 2018, Site fix-up work has begun! Now do your part and report any bugs or deficiencies here

No guarantees, but if we don't report problems they won't get much of  a chance to be fixed! Details/discussions at link given just above.

Johan,
I will have to check on this. The errors appear to be file access related but who really knows?
Cliff,
I think I will uninstall and then try again.
