Hey again all,

Looking over the AVR32 bit of the atmel website which has recently had a bit of an overhaul, it says that the AP7000 series can support IDE hard drives. Now it obviously can, the timing diagrams (and common sense) show it, but has anyone actually _done_ it? Preferably, but not limited to, under Linux. I've posted in this forum rather than the Linux one as I'd love to know about any work being done at all!

Cheers,
-S.

Just finished the design for ATA/IDE interface.
You have to do level translation, but got it all
finished out.

I should be finished debugging it in a few weeks.

Cool, to what did you connect it? And out of interest, which level translators did you find to do the job? I know there are a few out there, but would be interested to know where you found your.

I have to go back and look at that page.
I believe its a TI part number. I replaced the CF slot, with a 44 pin ide. Since my board has 9 usb
host ports, cf is somewhat redundant.

Hi glenn,

could you tell us what the current status of your work is? I'm really interested in attaching a normal hdd to the NGW100 (if I ever get it :( ) =)

Regards,
Chris
