Hi,

Anytime I use IAR for writing my applycation I use the Debugmode to finish my program and debuging the product. I configure the settings to the PROJECT/OPTIONS window (General, Compiler, Linker), but when I switch to Release mode I have to do the same configurations again.
This method is very boring and dangerous also, because I have to switch from one mode to another about 10 times in order to finish the "Copy" of the Debug configurations to the Release mode.

Is there any other way of doing this? I tried to find anything in the manuals but I didn't get enough.

Thanks for your time.

Doesn't the $3000 you paid for the compiler guarantee instant support from IAR then?

No,

I have the free version that a electronics magazine had in a cd.

Is there anything I can do for solving this problem?

You csn create a new configuration based on your heavily modified configurated. Then, change the new configuration to have either release or debyg configurations -- which usually only involves compiling in debugging (C-Spy) for Debug configurations and maybe differences in compiler optimizations.

Kevin,

Can you please show how can I do this step by step, because I try it and I can't do it.

Thanks for your time,

Michael

In menu 'Project', select 'Edit Configurations'.
In the following dialog select the configuration 'debug' (where you made all your settings that you want to copy) and select 'New..'. Put in a name for the new configuration, e.g. NEW and press OK.
Now you have a configuration 'NEW' with all the settings made in 'debug'.
