Apparently he forgot to remove the debugging symbols
from the installed files.

find  -name '*.[oa]' -exec avr-strip -g '{}' ';'

(Please copy & paste into *one* input line on the command
prompt.)

Well, it's probably a better starting point to use

/avr/lib

then as the directory name for the "find" command.
Seems to me WinAVR also installed some .o files for the
native host system (namely Tcl/Tk files). But no harm
done by that, avr-strip just told you it didn't touch them
because it could not make heads and tails out of them,
while I think it ran fine through all the AVR-related
files.
