Help no longer displays any of the help files.

I'm running Windows 2000
I just recently did a defrag and chkdsk.
When I started studio and went to the help menu
and clicked on a selection I get nothing.
About and update work but thats it. Installed the
latest update in hopes that it might fix it but no
luck. Any ideas?

Thanks

What about if you start a command prompt. Navigate to \Program Files\Atmel\AVR Tools and locate the .chm files which are the actual help files that are displayed in Studio. What happens is you just type the name of one of them at a Command Prompt?

May be on to something.
At the command prompt when I try to go to the "program files" directory I get an error message
"Too many parameters - Files"
I think my OS is Broken.

Curious. For me:

C:\Program Files\Atmel\AVR Tools\Help>dir
Volume in drive C is ACER
 Volume Serial Number is C6B0-75D7

C:\Program Files\Atmel\AVR Tools\Help>stk500.chm

leads to a window opening on the desktop with the Windows HTML helpviewer showing help about STK500. That should work for you too.

Thanks for your input. Upon further investigation, I've discovered that Windows is indeed broken. Other programs that use help are also not functioning. I was looking for an excuse to put XP on my system anyway. Now might be a good time to install it.

Sorry to waste your time
And thanks to all.
