I am planning to implement GPRS into my project. For the same I started to search how to proceed , But after some searching I am confused and writing the same.

What I have?
GPRS activated SIM.
Wavecom Modem - http://www.visiontek.co.in/wireless-modems-convertors/GSM-Commercial-Modem-81GC.html
Setup for AVR programming using STK500 and JTAGICE MKII

Where I am confused?
Is this modem compatible for GPRS programming?
AT commands can/can't be used - any link/hint

Is anything extra required for me to start.

I welcome all who share some knowledge on this topic.

Thanks,

Anmol

ok know check it out in this way

AT commands are specifically used for GPRS communication , These commands will be released from serial port of MCU . Using AT command we can hoop up to service provider and even get dynamic IP address. Now suppose i want to transmit 123456789 to remote host then I do need to have its IP addressee. We can connect using at command AT+CIPSTART...

first of all need to build/hire an ip server....start send data in ip- packets log this data in to a database..... on server.... use this database integrate with your application....

i wud suggest go for smtp ,connect to serviceprovidergprs.com pick any smtp service provider.. yahoo.. google or search the net for other free smtp providers.....now send data thru mail....
