I know Vector very well (CANoe is something of an "industry standard" in the automotive world in which I reside). They are a good company making robust/stable products (hardware and software). I wouldn't be too concerned about the future of Lint - the fact is that in recent times, because in Automotive static analysis (esp MISRA checking) is a key tool, it was loosing out to the likes of Klockwork, QAC and so on. Could be interesting times to see what direction Vector take it in.
