ok i want to attach a crystal to my atmega16 but i dont know how to change fusebits using avrdude as thats the only compiler my programmer supports , so plzz anyone who knows how to change fusebits and how to manipulate them ..then plzz post ,,,,,also mention abt any fusebit tutorials which can give me a clear overview of the subject :)

maybe this much is sufficient for you. For calculation of fuse bits visit the link
http://palmavr.sourceforge.net/c...

avrdude -P ? -p m16 -c ? -U hfuse:w:0x19:m // if hfuse more read about -U option in avrdude tutorial
avrdude -v -P ? -p m16 -c ? -e // to know the current fuse settings

where ? depends upon yours setup.

Hi all,
I am a newbie in field of microcontrollers.
i recently brought an AVR development board from Nex Robotics India.
http://www.nex-robotics.com/View...
i was trying to learn fuse bits setting and using serial communication.
i found out that the current fuse bits setting are :
lfuse: 0xFF
hfuse: 0xD9

which i guess enables the attached 16 mhz crystal.
but when i tried to make the fuse bits value to default ( 1 mhz ) value , lfuse: 0xE1 , hfuse: 0x99 . the led stopped blinking.
can anyone please tell me why the led is not blinking on the default value ? :( i m attaching my program

hey welcome to the world of avr's now i guess u must have done some wrong settings with the fusebits or i think since ur speed decreased deom 16 to 1 mghz ,the same delay given in 16 mhz for blinking will bcome very hogh delay for 1mhz crystal thats why it would have stopped blinking and bcome constan

also another thing how did u make payment for nex robotics??

well i decreased the time delay of led blink 10 times also so as to see something working , and regarding settings i guess E1 and 99 are the right values for atmega16.

i attended their workshop at BITS GOA and got the dev. board there. :)

well i wanted to know what facilities are given in the development board?
