I use a project called v-usb with my atmega8 series chips. It's a nice driver and has served me well. The speed limitation has become a bit of a burden. So I'm looking for a replacement.

They mention a few on their site
http://www.obdev.at/products/vus...
but none of these, as far as I know, are what I need.

My requirements are that I can use a atmega328 and have a full speed usb driver. I dont need to use usb 2.0, 1.1 is fine, I just need full speed capabilities.

Anyone here know if such a project?

The reality is that a mega328 cannot cope with the usb 12mbit speed requirement of full speed USB. It took hand crafted assembler for it to do 1.5mbit. I think you really want something like a mega32u4 which has full speed usb device hardware built in.

You can always use something like a XMOS chip if you want to do usb in firmware!
