This is my first amd64 , debian package , so "go easy on me".
I hope i got the package manager right.

Noticed that Debian squeeze has one:
http://packages.debian.org/squeeze/gcc-avr
I haven't been following the parent thread so this post may be partially out of context.

Yup , so does Ubuntu .....

Main problem is that they are build upon "mainstream" releases of the sourcecode. And the patches for newer AVR MCU's takes a loooong time , before being accepted into the "mainstream" binutils/gcc etc.

That's why i keep maintaining a buildscript here , w. the latest patches. And lately a .deb pkg for Ubuntu , build on (for) the latest LTS.

Just installed avr-gcc-4.3.4-avrfreaks-30-apr-2010-u10.04.x64.deb on my brand new 10.04 x64 installation. Works a treat with the couple of AVR projects I have available (roughly 32K each in size)

Thanks Bingo!
