Hi all,

Has anyone had a play getting buildroot flavoured Linux running on the favr32 board on, eg, the EarthLCD+101? Actually that's a kinda rhetorical question, I know you have hce ;-).

My question is: How? Does it use u-boot already (and if so how to I get a console to change the boot command)? Can one use the existing bootloader to chainload u-boot? The manual says in passing that the autoexecuting .eze files on the SD card can be used to load a Linux OS.

If not, and I suspect not, then I suppose one has to get on to the JTAG lines and start from scratch. No problems but what's the JTAG pinout on that funny connector? Does anyone have the part number of a mating plug? Or shall I just solder it on out to a 2x5 2.54mm pin strip to go right in to the bottom of my jtagicemk2?

Thx,
-S.

Take a look in http://www.atmel.no/buildroot/bi...

The http://www.atmel.no/buildroot/bi... will replace the original bootloader with U-Boot IIRC. I have not tested it recently, but I believed that was the one to use. After that use the flash-upgrade image to get a 1.3.x bootloader, and from there you can reprogram U-Boot from itself.
