Hi, I would like to use an ESP8266 with an AVR and I'd like to be able to set it up to connect to WiFi networks without much support hardware. I.e. Without buttons and an LCD.

I imagine I can configure the ESP8266 as a base station and host a simple "setup" web page where the user can view available WiFi networks, connect to one and enter its password over the air, but this seems like the sort of project an AVRfreak may have already completed.

I've searched around and can't find an example AVR library to do this. Before I set off on the lengthy journey of coding such a system myself, can anybody with more experience or better search skills point me in the direction of an existing library or project for this?

Google "esp8266 web". Any number of projects and tutorials are returned.
