Hello,

For several reasons I had to reinstall Atmel Studio 7 this morning.

When I opened Help Viewer to get some Documents, there was nothing available Online except Microsoft Help Viewer 2.1 Documentation.

At the bottom of the screen there is a notice that Errors occurred.

Apparently the viewer is pointing to an Atmel web page which is no longer available.

Does anyone know How I can change this pointer and what I should change it to?

Thanks,

Paul

Create a support ticket...

In the mean time, use the online version by going to Help->Preference->Online

I guess it's too late to suggest it should have been indirect via a INI/JSON/XML or similar(*) so could be user corrected ? ;-)

(*) even a regedit at a pinch ?

Thanks for the suggestion Meolsen,

On Line seems to be no better!

I'm writing a ticket!

It could, but I can't tell you what to redirect to... (aka the only thing I can see from my side is that the container that used to be behind that URL is not there anymore smiley)

I checked first before writing a ticket about this problem

There are two previous tickets that are related, albeit from different perspectives.

They offer no fix.

Apparently, Microchip moved or removed the web location pointed to by the Help Viewer Content Manager.

They seem to be working very hard at burying the Atmel brand products, maybe this is part of their plan (Insert sound snippet of evil laugh)!

Regards,

Paul

Why wouldn't they? They bought out Atmel. Sure they may retain "AVR" but I don't see any motivation on their part to maintain some old, "dead" company's name? Surely they want the world to think of "Microchip AVRs" just as much as it already thinks of "Microchip PICs"?

Not the products!

But, as clawson says, it's pretty standard practice to get rid of the old branding.

Thanks meolsen,

The Help Viewer can now see the available files.

When I try to download a file, I get the following error.

It appears to be on the server side, but I could be mistaken.

Thanks,

Paul
