Had an interesting day at Embedded World and picked up free SAM4S Xplained Pro Starter kit and Xplained Mini from the Atmel Stand.  I'm looking forward to having a play.

 

Lots of other interesting stuff around but I thought I'd just brag a little about the freebies ;o)

  2. "Garbage" characters on a serial terminal are (almost?) invariably due to wrong baud rate - see: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/serial-communication
  3. Wrong baud rate is usually due to not running at the speed you thought; check by blinking a LED to see if you get the speed you expected

I had a look at the bag at the entry but didn't take it because was too full of brochures and I didn't want to lug it around - hopefully I didn't miss out on anything important :o(

Well I did have a look but couldn't see anything other than brochures and if I'd taken every bag at the entrance to every exhibition I have been to I would have 3,142 bags.
