Eagle library for AVR 8bit devices

Couldn't you just go to CADSOFT? http://www.cadsoft.de/download.htm
Cadsoft has several AVR libraries. In the downloads section, as Lee suggests.

that's right. Eagle CAD website will help you. :wink:
I did download avr-5.lbr from the Cadsoft downloads. But that's wasn't the question.
The fact is I wanted to use the ATtiny2313. And that isn't available in avr-5.lbr. While this is not problematic for the design (the AT90S2313 does work as well), I'd like it in, for completeness.

Well, the fact is that in real world nobody has done the parts you must use to the PCB software you must use, so you have to do the parts yourself anyway.
It takes less than 10 minutes to fix the library.
