Hi,

So I thought the price of the MKII was way beyond me at $300, but I found the thread where you can get one for half price and I am asking myself if I should order a Dragon, or pay the $100 more and get the JTAG MKII instead.

I am also going to order a STK500 as well.

What is your advice?

Thanks,

Alan

If you can afford the $100 there's no question. The ICEmkII is far more future proof and FAR more robust

guessing the 1/2 price one is the clone? I have had the STK500, some parallel programmer, 2 x Dragon and now i'm on the ICE MkII Clone. I have only just started using it but it's been ok so far. Have had a bit of a problem, with debugWire on it but that could have been the board etc.

Both my dragons died so that wasn't fun. Hopefully the ice will last a bit longer then the dragons did (not even a year when added together)

it looks it. I'd get that. Wouldn't bother with the inferior dragon

edit; just told my boss to buy one as a replacement for the clone and keep the clone as a backup haha
