Hi!

I've been having som trouble with the debugging...

I start by compiling the program. Then I use my AVR dragon to program my ATTiny861 with the .hex-file.

After the checks, which results in "ok"s, I press "start debugging".
Then I get the message "use spi to enable debugmode". I choose that one and then ok. The debugging start running and everything works fine.
When im done i press the "stop debugging" and now I cant program my µController cause SPI is disable.

I've tried alot but nothing seems to work. Any idea on what im doing wrong? Kinda new to this. :P

Hello,
beside the wrong forum, it's for AVR32 here, you could have a view on the AVRTV_issue_010.mov where debugging with SPI or debugWire is explained.

To use debugWire on a 168 you first have to wire it up with all six wires to do ISP and use the ISP programming dialog to change the state of the DWEN fuse. Only then can you start a debug session using debugWire. When you want to get back you need to have the 6 ISP wires in place and on the bottom of the Debug menu is an entry that leads to a dialog which offers the option to "switch back to ISP mode". Use that during a debug session and the DWEN fuse will be turned off again.
