Could debugger erase app flash only before loading program?

It would be nice if when debugging, Studio could erase only the app flash before programming and leave the bootloader intact.  Currently it seems I have only two choices for the Xmega.

 

 

It seems there are two ways to do this for the Xmega.   Use the NVM command "Erase and write flash page" or "Erase application section".

As far as I know it's all or nothing, at least that has been the way with Mega and Tiny chips.

 

Anyway why do you want to keep the bootolader during debugging? They are a nuisance until after your code is debugged. wink

But it's different for Xmega.

They are a nuisance until after your code is debugged.

Not if you switch off BOOTRST - then it's just some redundant code up the other end of the chip not doing anyone any bother.
