As much as I hate ASF and its complexities, I'm using it as part of an existing project and need to use an additional timer with compare.

Cut from an example..

 tc45_enable_cc_channels(&TCC4,(   TC45_CCAEN | TC45_CCBEN));
 tc45_set_cca_interrupt_level(&TCC4, TC45_INT_LVL_LO);
 tc45_set_ccb_interrupt_level(&TCC4, TC45_INT_LVL_MED);

The problem is TC45_CCAEN and TC45_CCBEN are coming up as undeclared. There seems to be no problems with the other Timer definitions,

should I be using TC45_CCACOMP? If so why are the examples as they are? If not - appreciated solution.

Thanks.

What chip?

What ASF version?

Top Tips:

  2. "Garbage" characters on a serial terminal are (almost?) invariably due to wrong baud rate - see: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/serial-communication
  3. Wrong baud rate is usually due to not running at the speed you thought; check by blinking a LED to see if you get the speed you expected

Im using AVR Studio 6.2  only recently downloaded ( month or so ago ).

Sounds sad but Where do I find the version of ASF? I'm used to working raw with no framework.

Chip is . ATxmega32E5

I didn't create the project - it's Atmels DALI Master example that I'm adding to.

Well, <iox32e5.h> is device specific header for ATxmega32E5.

The problem is TC45_CCAEN and TC45_CCBEN are coming up as undeclared. There seems to be no problems with the other Timer definitions,

should I be using TC45_CCACOMP?

When I searched particularly the three option you mentioned above in header I got message "Following specified text was not found". But there are other bits related to TC45.
