I am running AS 7.0.1931, the latest.

I've been working on an ATmega328p app on and off for a few hours and there was a notification of an update that was available and so I installed it.  Even though I installed it the notification still noifies me that the update is available but when I go into Device Pack Manager there is nothing to update.  For ATmega_DFP Device Pack Manager says 1.3.30 is the latest.

Now When AS starts up and tries to load the project i was working on I get an; "Error in adding components to project.  Component AtmelDeviceStartup is missing" error.

When I try to create a new ATmega328p project I get the same error.

It's a very simple C++ app with only a main module.

I looked in Device Pack Manager and everything is up to date.

Any one else having this problem?

Any ideas?

Happy Trails,

Mike

I had the same problem today. That's why I found your post.

To solve this problem I entered the Device Pack Manager and installed the previous version of the ATmega_DFP (Version 1.3.300). After that I deinstalled the update and restarted Atmel Studio.

When I looked in the Device Pack Manager again there was no update available for the ATmega_DFP.

Hello,

after installing Microchip.ATmega_DFP.2.2.108 from https://packs.download.microchip... I have encountered the same problem:

I get the error message ': error  : Error in adding components to project, Component Atmel:Device:Startup is Missing ' and I can no longer open or create projects. The suggestion here to remove Atmel.ATmega_DFP 1.3.300 via the device manager did not solve this issue. I realise that this occured a a while ago. Any updates on the issue so far?

Yours Charlotte

Thanks for the quick reply, removing the previous package and installing the Atmel ATmega Series Device Support 1.4.351 did not solve this issue. Is a clean new Installation of Atmel Studio recommendable?

You're welcome.

No

IIRC, there's a device package cache that can be reset; will search the operator's guide.

Heya, thanks again. I resetted the Cache, but the Error Message ist persistent. I guess I will just remove Atmel Studio entirely and give the right package a clean update.
