I have been using Codevision for years (last update was version 3.24). After IT pushed a new security update, Codevision fails to launch. No error indication, the process just dies a second after starting. The native CVAVR IDE will not load, and when I use the Atmel studio plugin, it just stops at the beginning:
Project "PSS.cproj" (Clean target(s)):
Target "Clean" in file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Atmel\Atmel Studio 6.2\vs\CV.targets" from project "C:\Users\Public\Documents\vikingfw\Pss\tags\PSS_22\PSS.cproj" (entry point):
Using "CVToolTask" task from assembly "C:\Program Files (x86)\Atmel\Atmel Studio 6.2\vs\CVBuildTargets.dll".
C:\cvavr\BIN\cvavrcl.exe "PSS.prj" -cl "
I see no more compiler messages or error messages, nothing hangs. The build menus are greyed out as if the build is in progress, and I can't close AtmelStudio unless I cancel the build. Has anyone else ever experienced any incompatibility issues with security updates? I had IT disable the security software, but that did not help. I don't have much of a clue, I am thinking that some service was removed that CVAVR uses (like perhaps a licensing service?), but that is purely speculative as I don't have visibility under the CVAVR hood.
