I have a very simple Codevision project in Atmel Studio 7.

I basically used the Codevision wizard to generate a file with no code other than the auto generated code, where all the I/O ports are configured.

The code built fine in AS7 and the Codevision post-compile pop up box said zero errors.

However, the AS7 intellisense has red squiggly lines under every register definition, as though an include file was missing.

Obviously the fact the code compiled OK means at least Codevision sees the #include file and recognises all the register defintions. But it seems AS7 does not.

Anyone know what's going on there.

Red squigglies are not native Atmel Studio... Do you have a analysis plugin installed?

(yes, I work for Atmel, yes, I do this in my spare time, now stop sending PMs)

I'm guessing by a plugin, you mean extension ?

I checked the installed extensions and I believe these are installed:

Atmel Kits
Atmel Start
AtmelToolchainProvider
CodevisionAVR
Data Visualizer Extension
GdbConsole
LiveWatch
Microchip Gallery
Visual Assist for Atmel Studio

I un-installed Visual Assist for Atmel Studio and the red squiggles appear to be gone.

Thanks very much Meolsen.

EDIT:

I'm wondering if I shouldn't have done that, it seems like it's quite a desired feature in AS7.

I've also just got a reply from Pavel who is the Author of Codevision, and he gave me some ways to correct the issue (which involved settings in Visual Assist LOL).

However, can't seem to find this extension available for install. Might have to uninstall and reinstall AS7 to get it back.
