I thought i'd give AS5 a go with a couple of projects I've been working on in AS4:
The XMega128A1 project has imported fine and I could continue working without any immediate problems.
The XMega32A4 project however seems to import and compile ok but I can't get the JTAGICE mk2 to work when I try and debug the program. It tells me there has been an error:

Quote:

Timestamp: 2011-07-24 23:10:28.241
Severity: ERROR
ComponentId: 20100
StatusCode: 0

TCF command: Processes:launch failed: Code:131107 ,Service:Processes ,Message from peer:setParameter failed:
An unknown emulator error occured.

This doesn't seem like a useful debug output and I have no idea what to try and fix. Has anyone else seen this problem?

I can tell you that I have used the programming dialog and can check signature/fuses etc and it works fine. There is no other option to choose than PDI for debug which is fine.

I have created a blank project for this micro and tried to debug and get the same message.
I'll just stick with AS4 for the moment but it would be interesting to know what I did wrong.
Many thanks

John.

I'm having the same problem, the only difference is that I use an AVR Dragon. Everything works well with AS4.

So use that until AS5 is finished.

For the record- I have debugged many XMega32A4 projects with AS5 and the JTAGICE mkii with no issues. This is using Windows 7 64bit.

Did AS5 ask you to upgrade the firmware on your JTAGICE mkii? I do know that it is a pain switching between AS4 and AS5, as both require different versions of firmware be loaded into the JTAGICE mkii.

Other than this, I haven't had ANY issues compiling, debugging, or programming the XMega32a4 or XMega128a1.

Yeah, i did upgrade the jtagice and you're right it is a pain however I do have 2 of them. I use win 7 64 bit home + laptop and I have winxp at work desk all had problems.

I have now binned off AS5 as a bad job!

Maybe I'll wait for AS6 before trying AS5 again.
