Hi people,

I'm looking for some advice on a low cost flexible or plug-able board to board interconnect in 1k to 2k quantity...

I have two small PCBs at a distance of 5/8" (15.75mm)...
I require 6 conductors and they need to be removable or flexible to allow access.

One of them needs to be SMD which negates a wired solution.

I've been hunting on Digikey and have come up with a male/female pin header combo that costs 75 cents in quantity but I feel this is a bit expensive...
Does anyone have a cheaper source?

Spring loaded pins and PCB pads won't span the distance so that rules out that option...

I've attached a picture for clarity. Hope to get some suggestions...

Thanks!
Michael

I think I'd use an FFC/FPC connection. Those flexible flat foil thingies.

Hi,

With some searching I've currently reduced the pin header option to about 40 cents in 1k quantity.

I looked into FFC/FPC but couldn't anything cheaper.
Do you have source for cheap FFC/FPC cables and connectors?

Thanks,
Michael
