I need to call a function that returns a signed word. I got the signed word part but I don't understand the BIN 4 format part.

From the function header:

"Returns: SWORD - Temperature in Centigrade in BIN 4 format."

An explanation would be appreciated.

Thanks,

S.G.

I found the answer:

BIN 4 format means the last 4 bit represent the fractional part of the number. The resolution in this case is 1/16th of a degree.
