I have been using AVRstudio 3.53 - JTAGICE - Imagecraft C compiler - and a mega128 with reasonably good results.

I downloaded studio 4.0 today. Nice screen format, installed fine.

At first I couldn't get it to accept my coef file but I found a magic switch in IC that seemed to fix that ... but I can't get 4.0 to connect with the JTAGICE. Same setup, serial port 1 , and I can switch right back to 3.53 and the ICE connects fine.

Any ideas ?

TIA, KB

Hi there.

I have tried my JTAG ICE, and it auto detected it fine. (Using AVR Studio4). I am however also experiencing some problems. I have a piece of code that I am only simulating. I use an Init() function to initialize all the variables and stuff. When it returns from this function, the chip resets. It jumps to address 000 when the ret command is called. The same code did not do this in Studio3.53.

I am using Code Vision with a Mega 8. Also worked with success on the Mega16 and Mega32.

Seems like there are still some bugs to sort out in Studio4. I will however test it more thoroughly before I send a bug report. I am never sure weather I am just doing something stupid.

Good luck.
