Hi all,

I have recommended AvrOspII programmer software to a friend of mine and now he has reported a strange error.

In "Fuse Bits" option the main textbox is empty (see attached picture).

Reading and writing fuses using boxes Ext, High, Low works.
The same with Lock Bits option.

He says he has tested on two notebooks, with XP and Win7, with the same result.

I wonder if anybody has experienced this behavior.
I myself use this software for long time without any problem.

Thank you in advance.

Sorry I have never used this programmer.

But if you want to try something else, I know Atmel offers their own free programmer called FLIP.

Just a noob in this crazy world trying to get some electrons to obey me.

Thank you.
I would better stay with this software.
All in the programmer works.
Only the window with checkboxes for oscillator settings etc. is missing.
At worst fuses can be set with whole fusebytes as it is with Avrdude.
But I would like to know what causes the obscurity with unvisible window.

Hi,

Problem solved.
I have got the explanation from Mr Henning, the author of the program.

Quote:
AvrOspII uses the xml part description files that come with Avr Studio for the
fuse and lock bit information. If you don't have those files somewhere in your
path you will get an empty screen as you describe. Hope that is of some help.
