Is there a way I can install only the USB driver for the avrisp mkII without AVR Studio? I want to distribute a small application that uses AVRDude and the mkII to program an avr circuit with a fixed hex file at the push of a button. This is for somewhat non-technical users in a different country with boards needing a firmware upgrade. Maybe if I locate the .sys driver file I can just copy it to the target computer's driver directory through the installer.

IIRC WinAVR ships a USB driver (for libusb-win32) that works standalone,
and does not require the AVR Studio "Jungo" driver.

Oh great. I'll have to try it out. I tried changing the port in my WinAVR makefile to "usb" and the programmer to "avrispmkII" but it reports:

avrdude: usbdev_open(): did not find any USB device "usb"

Looks like I'll need to read into it a bit more.
