Hello Guys! (/and girls too of cause ;).

I am looking for "Avrfuse" for Linux (Ubuntu) this: http://www11.ocn.ne.jp/~maracas/...

But the download links doesn't work! I have tried to text Maracas (the creator) directly through his profile in here but he does not answer, maybe he doesn't like computers anymore or.. I don't know..

Does anyone have this tool for Linux? I guess it is ok to ask since it is freeware, the download links are broken, and the guy doesn't answer(?)

The download worked for me in Firefox (on Windows).

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig.

I've never met a pig I didn't like, as long as you have some salt and pepper.

Isn't it simply easier to point your web browser at:

http://www.engbedded.com/fusecalc

(I guess this counts as "computing in the cloud"? ;-))

I just tried the download (from Firefox 27.0.1 under Slackware Linux) for both the Windows and the Linux versions of his app and they downloaded fine.

If for some reason you're still having problems, you might try a direct download of that URL, like this:

wget -c http://www33.tok2.com/home/pokechop/source/avrfuse1.0.2-linux.tar.gz

Hope that helps!

Regards,
Bill

Thanks Calwson! but I like to have an offline tool and I really like the interface of Avrfuse!

I just tried it with Ubuntu/Firefox and direct download through the terminal. Still no luck!!

hmm...I wonder if it can it have something to do with time of day?... Maybe the files are on a local server that is shut down from time to time.

Very strange!

Could I get someone with better luck to upload it? (don't know if that is sort of "legal", but I can't reach the guy..).

I was going to PM you with the file as an attachment, but I found out that there is a 5 MB limit on PM attachments and the Linux version of this app is 6.1 MB.

Maybe someone with some public-facing storage/website (of which I have none) could do it?

What time of day (in UTC) are you trying the download?

Does the 'wget' command get any portion of the file at all? I specified '-c' (a.k.a. '--continue') on that command so that it would continue after a timeout. If it's a time-of-day issue, let that command run while you sleep, if necessary. You might wake up to find a fully-downloaded file! :)

Bill

Thank you Bill! The wget does not get any portion of the file. Ok I will try with the '-c' (or simply set the alarm clock).

Hello Guys! Still no luck! The computer have been trying all night with wget -c. Don't know what the problem is then, maybe a geographic/regional issue..

If I could get someone that can download the file to email it to oleoleo2@gmail.com I would be very very happy!! The file is this one: http://www33.tok2.com/home/pokec...

Best regards

Ole.

Hello

I think you are right that it is a geographic/regional issue, i tried to download it from the Netherlands and it did not work either.
Then i tried to download it via tor-browser and that worked fine.

Wim

That's interesting! Maybe with the right proxy then.
I tried via "Hide My ass" but could not get that to work.

Did you try use a new identity in the control panel maybe the IP Address you got via tor is in the same region that is not working.

Thanks Wim! I finally got it!

By changing identity 5 to 6 times and paste the link into the address line in the tor-browser ;)

Thank you everybody!
