I have implemented Giorgos' Butterfly-type bootloader on a m162
system. It seems to function perfectly when operated from
Avrprog with my target "posing" as a m169.

Now I would like to use Avrdude, but It it does not seem to work. It
goes through the motions, but seems to load the flash with a block
of zeros, which of course leads to a verify error.

Is anyone actually doing this sucessfully? I did a search and could not
see where someone has specifically done this.

Thanks,

Don't know your bootloader, but for the record,
yes, I'm using AVRDUDE successfully against an
AppNote AVR109 bootloader (which is basically
a generalized Butterfly bootloader).

Tom,
After Jörg's assertion that the Avrdude works with the Butterfly bootloader, I started testing my bootloader and I have managed to reproduce the error: Although it works fine using the AVRProg front-end, when combinrd with the Avrdude it does not.
I am currently working on it, and I will get back to you at my original thread.

I am sorry for the trouble I may have caused,
