Hi!

I bought some ATtiny25 and one ATtiny85.

I use a straight parallel cable (type dapa in avrdude)
and has no problems programming ATmega168 and ATtiny85. But not one of now four tried ATtiny25 has worked (avrdude says -1 check connection and cable).

I checked with the seller and noone else has complained so i suppose they are ok. The ATtiny85 and tiny25 are pin-compatible så i just lift out the 85 that works and puts in the 25 and it does'nt work...

Anyone got a clue?

A new AVR is running at 1MHz, so you will need to slow down your ISP speed to 250kHz or less.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig.

I've never met a pig I didn't like, as long as you have some salt and pepper.

As it's avrdude you are using that means reading about the -i option in the manual.

[Also read the PPP thread in the Tutorial Forum - there are many things that can go wrong with parallel port programmers and that thread recognises most of them and offers solutions]

Thanks for your time

But, well, the ATtiny85 is as well running at 1Mhz, and it works... I've tried playing with the -i flag.. No success there... Googling on.

Watching MOSI and SCK with oscilloscope they behave nicely, and MISO is all dead :(
