I'm very contented with the AVR32 microcontrollers. That's why I want to use them for further projects. But now I need the CAN bus for a new application. Unfortunately there isn't any AVR32 with a CAN controller till now... Does Atmel plan to introduce an AVR32 with CAN controller in the near future?

Thank's for any answers!

It looks like there will be MCUs with CAN controller. I saw the UC3 roadmap document somewhere, and sometime ago. But, do not know when.

Thanks for the hint! I googled for "uc3a roadmap" and found a pdf-document.

url: http://support.po-star.com/uploadfiles/2007427165248775.pdf => on page 15 is a roadmap of March 2007

Its not the newest one, but you can see, that a MCU with CAN is in development.

But, cannot say when will they be out.
I was recently part of a thread, where there was a discussion on the AP7 roadmap. AP720x the next generation (should I say) of the AP7000 series was supposed to be out in Q4 2007 and has not been out yet.
Have a look at the thread:

Googling... looks like UC3C (UC3 with CAN) will come out in Q2 / Q3 2009.
