I noticed the release notes for AVR Studio 4.14 RC1 indicate:

Quote:
Full support for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Vista

Has anyone tried it on Vista x64?

Do the USB drivers work?

I just got a new computer with Vista x64 so I am quite curious about this.

The beta ware site indicates the final version is scheduled for the end of March so I was thinking of just waiting till then to try it. Are there any updates on this schedule?

Since AVR Studio 4.14beta is stated to be Vista x64 compatible, I'd assume the USB drivers included fall into that category. It won't hurt to install the beta now and then upgrade to the final when it is released.

The USB-drivers has been Vista 64 campatible since AVR Studio 4.13 SP2. The program itself is still 32-bit, but the drivers have been signed and tested for Vista 64.

Thanks for the feedback.

When I saw "Full support for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Vista" in the "New Features" section of the release notes for 4.14, I assumed there were major issues in the previous versions. I have been running into so many other problems with Vista x64, I guess I was assuming the worst.

It sounds like, in general, even 4.12 should work okay with Vista x64.

I'm using it on Vista x64 with the STK600, and it works fine. Now, if I could only get the ATSTK600-DIP40... :x

I just heard from Mouser. Atmel claims "manufacturing problems", and wrote that Mouser will have the DIP40 on June 12

I finally got around to downloading AVR Studio 4.14. I just noticed in the licenese agreemnet screen it says the following:

Quote:
AVR Studio runs under Microsoft Windows 98, Windows NT, Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows XP 64 and Windows Vista (usb support for 32 bit only).
I hope USB support for 32 bit only is a mistake...
