AVR Studio Development Team,

I was just debugging a simple Mega32 App and noticed that AVR Studio was whining a bit about the simulator clock frequency I specified for the part.

Upon looking here: http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resourc...
The Mega32 should be good up to 16MHz but the AVR Studio simulator seems to think otherwise...

When I go through the menu system to set up the simulator
Debug->AVR Simulator Options-> Selecting the Mega32 device & it thinks the max clock freq is still 8 MHz.

It does let me use my 14.7456 clock that I wish to simulate with but it does complain about it. I'm using what I believed to be the newest version. 4.11.410 Service Pack 3.

It seems as though someone ought to put this on the TODO list for the next release -

Has anyone else noticed any other parts with incorrect Max Clock frequencies that can be added to the list?

Kindest Regards,

Erick

In /program files/atmel/avr tools/Partdescriptionfiles/ you should find ATmega32.xml - I think AVR Studio's knowledge of the maximum speed for the part comes from the line near the top of this file that says:

		ATmega32
		8MHZ

You could try editing that and see if it fixes your problem. Probably worth emailing avr@atmel.com about this if it is an error.
