Thanks

Yes, it is similar but somewhat different at the same time.

Thank for answer ...

What hardware do you possess?

There are several types of "JTAG-ICE" available

1.  Obsolete Atmel JTAGICE.    RS232 only.  Supported by AS4.18.   Will never supported by AS7.xx

2.  Chinese or Thai JTAGICE clone.    RS232 device via USB.  Supported by AS4.18.   Will never supported by AS7.xx

3.  Atmel DRAGON.  USB only. Supported by AS4.18.  Supported by AS7.xx

4.  Atmel JTAGICE-mkII.  RS232 or USB.   Supported by AS4.18.   Destroyed by AS7.xx

5.  Atmel JTAGICE-3.   USB only.  Supported by AS7.xx

6.  Atmel ATMEL-ICE.   USB only.  Supported by AS7.xx

Note that (1) and (2) will only work with older AVR e.g. mega16/162/169/32/64/128

Dear David,

I need help.

I am using Atmega324PA.

I have purchased JTAG ICE from https://robokits.co.in/programmers/atmel-avr/avr-jtag-ice-programmer-debugger-usb?zenid=v8g0021i55qfkj4j31di39h014.

I have Atmel Studio. But how to detect ICE in Atmel Studio.

how to use it for above controller.

That is a JUNK ICE for newer chips, you should have looked at the specs before spending your money.

Hi
Atmega324PA has JTAG.
Then?
And it's mentioned that All AVR devices with JTAG will be interfaced.

You can NOT use the JTAGICE-1 clone with an ATmega324PA
.
It should work fine with the devices listed on your link. Except for mega48 which appears to be a typo. The photo in your link does not seem to show a USB-UART chip that I would expect from (2).
.
As far as I know, the elderly ATmega16,32,64,128 are still very popular in India. They work fine with a JTAGICE-1.
If you want to use modern Atmel/Microchip devices buy an ATMEL-ICE.
.
Only Indian residents know how to deal with Indian companies. You will get the best advice from Indian websites.

We can help with Chinese, European, American, ... hardware.

Change your 324PA to a regular ATmega32A. It has similar memory. The peripherals are not as good as the 324 but you can still do many projects,

...In the days of Studio 4, maybe 10 years ago.  wink

Hi
I have attached image for your reference.
Only ATmega323. Atmega32 is there in software selection list.
Please suggest me some way.

Have you followed the advice given to you in that dialog? For example is the JTAGEN fuse active?

Dialog also says "check that JTAGICE is properly connected to target". Have you done that bit too?

From memory,   the JTAGICE-1 did not always make contact immediately when starting an AS4 session.

Sometimes pressing Reset button or power cycling would get it working.

Having established contact with the target mega32 programming and debugging went smoothly.

There is no point in trying to program or debug an ATmega324PA or other modern chip.

But since you have the JTAGICE-1 clone and mega32 is popular in India,  you might just as well use it.

David.
